I’m not sure who came up with this idea, but it’s certainly unique!
As part of their naming ceremony on Dec. 14, the world’s only surviving panda triplets were serenaded by renowned pianist Yundi Li at the Chimelong Safari Park.
Apparently the three little cubs can now hear, although it’s hard to tell from the footage if they actually noticed the wonderful sounds of Chopin’s Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2 drifting past their cute little ears.
In fact, the whole scene looks rather bizarre with keepers wearing panda outfits, and gigantic notes as decorations. The bears mostly behave, and stay in their special little arena right by the piano, but they do seem pretty oblivious to the music.
Following a special competition, the two boys are now called Shuaishuai (Handsome), and Kuku (Cool), while the girl is called Mengmeng (Cute).
