100-Yard-Long ‘Trash Dragon’ Grows in Northwest China

A residential area in Shaanxi Province is turning into a fly-infested garbage heap because locals keep piling all their refuse outside their homes. From above the trash looks like a huge dragon crawling through the area, according to China News.

Located in Xi’an, the neighborhood used to be very attractive with trees, flowers, and plenty of birds, but some families renovated their homes, and dumped the garbage outside. More families added to the piles, and it just kept accumulating as there was no official place for it to be collected there.

Now residents won’t open their windows, not just because of the smell, but because there are so many flies around.

The complex’s management company is reportedly going to hire more than 20 trucks to clear it all away.
