Five Spice Chinese Roast Turkey

Chinese five spice is a flavoring you just have to have on the spice-rack, and a signature flavor and aroma of Chinese Cuisine. The aromatic and warming blend of Chinese five spice is made from a blend of cloves, star anise, cinnamon, fennel, and Sichuan pepper.

This traditional recipe teaches you how to use the whole turkey so nothing goes to waste. Green onions and the turkey’s heart and liver are flavored with the spices and stuffed into the turkey. Then whole lot is then rubbed with Chinese five spice, garlic and ginger before it’s baked.

You can impress your family at the thanksgiving or Christmas feast with a unique take on the traditional. They’ll be talking about it for years!

Ingredients:

15 lb. turkey
1 to 3 TBS of five spice powder
2 TBS chopped ginger
3 TBS minced garlic
1 TBS black pepper
2 TBS salt
3 or more stalks of green onions
