Shennongjia National Nature Reserve

Shennongjia National Nature Reserve in Hubei, China, is a heavily forested area boasting rich biodiversity with over 3,400 plant species. It contains several climate zones — including subtropical, warm temperate, temperate, and cold temperate — and is home to a variety of rare and endangered animals.

Extending from the plains and foothill regions of eastern China to the mountainous region of central China, Shnnongjia was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List as a natural site in 2016.
