Chinese officials are among the richest in the country, and often obtain the majority of their money through illegitimate means. With billions of yuan in cash, they must to find obscure places to store their money, and they have invented some creative ways to do so.

Here are eight of the most unconventional ways communist cadres have hidden their money:

1. In a fish pond

In spite of such unique hiding places, such corrupt officials are often caught, and their massive amounts of corruptly obtained money are confiscated.
