Most of the jewelry presented at the fashion show was made with emeralds. A lot of the priceless pieces were also made of jade.

The theme of the show was all about which jewelry was fitting for an evening dress. Those with a taste for fashion claim that jade goes well with a variety of different color dresses.

The designer even presented models showcasing different pieces of jewelry suitable for different occasions.

The show finale was grand, as star designer Nel Nel took to the stage himself, accompanied by two sister models.

The star designer walking in the middle, with one of the sisters on either side, was dressed in a bright green silk robe embroidered with golden flowers on his sleeves.

The Hong Kong designer left out no extravagance when it came to the selection of his jewelry, wearing a set of long beaded necklaces, matching his robe. Nel Nel said in a comment that the robe was his favorite coat and one of his treasures. He puts it on only for special occasions. It is quite unique and impressive for a man to dress like this.

The two models beside him wore green emerald earrings and emerald necklaces, emerald wrist bands, and emerald rings. Using my personal judgment, I would say the value of all of those jewels put together could buy you a castle in Europe.

Even in China, emeralds commonly belong to royal families. However, recently, many Chinese women have used all of their life savings to buy emeralds because to them, emeralds always indicate one’s status and taste.

Chinese folklore even speaks about emeralds being capable of warding off evil things, such as bad luck, sickness, and misfortune, among many others.

This is also why Chinese Women wear jade bracelets.

 An investment for the future

One of the sister models told the audience that like all Chinese women, she likes emeralds the most. Her mother once told her to keep some jade or emeralds as a long-term investment. It would grow in value over time and never go out of fashion. The mother further suggested that precious jewelry made her look elegant, especially those made of jade or emeralds, plus they match most outfits.

The model went on to acknowledged her mother’s wise suggestions, saying it was very true. Screen Shot 2017-08-02 at 6.20.36 PMIndeed, those emeralds really made the sister models look very elegant and charming.
