When David Jenkins, a 41-year-old photographer from England, was working as a volunteer at the Bifengxia Panda Reserve in Sichuan Province, he caught sight of a hilarious scene. A cute Chinese panda sought freedom, and attempted to escape from its cage. The panda understood the main obstacle it would have to overcome was its own chunky body and pair of very short legs.
The panda found an accomplice to help with the escape by serving as a stepping stone. This brilliant idea got the panda to the top of the cage railing, but the panda hadn’t planned what to do next. After holding onto the rails for a while, the panda gave into its own weight and fell down with its back legs in the air, landing on top of its partner. Fortunately, neither of the pandas were hurt, but the escape plan came to a crushing end.
