Have you ever seen a pencil look so good? Jasenko Đorđević (pronounced Djordjevic) is an award-winning Bosnian sculptor who can turn ordinary pencils into masterpieces.
Đorđević of TOLDart is a 32-year-old artist who transforms the tips of pencils into amazing sculptures, depicting things like people, animals, birds, towers, and flowers.
All of his creations are one of a kind, with graphite being his favorite material.
Pencil sculpture by Jasenko Đorđević:
According to RT, The virtuoso has been drawn to miniatures since childhood. The older he grew, the more fascinated he became with his craft. In 2007, he applied for entry in the Guinness World Records book with an origami boat made from a piece of paper measuring only 1.5 x 2.5 mm. The boat itself was even smaller—only 1.2 x 1 x 0.7 mm. Đorđević says he wasn’t accepted because there was no category for his work.
Amazing detailed sculptures carved on a pencil tip:
Đorđević uses an X-Acto knife and a small chisel to make his pieces of art. According to Collective Evolution, it’s amazing how creative human beings are, and how so many of us have this natural drive to create art. It seems as if children today are discouraged from pursuing a pastime as “frivolous” as art, instead being told to go to school, and study “serious” subjects like maths and science.
