Guess What? Photos of This Umbrella Boy Just Went Viral in China

This is a story about a queen-like teacher and her subservient student.

These images of a primary school student holding an umbrella for his teacher while on a field trip went viral after they were posted on Weibo on April 30.

Many bloggers accused the teacher of abusing her power by using the student as her personal umbrella stand.

Turns out the woman is indeed a teacher of a primary school in Shanghai. She later apologized in tears, admitting that she let the child hold the umbrella for her during the school trip to Peace Park on April 30 because he wanted to, according to eastday.com.

She said she didn’t reject the boy’s offer to hold the umbrella for her because she didn’t think about it much. “I didn’t realize I had set an example until I saw the photos,” she added.

In response, the Baoshan education department says it has asked teachers to discipline themselves, and the school said that it has held a meeting and spoken to all the teachers about this.

However, it is still under investigation. I wonder what would have happened if it was a yellow umbrella!
