Like An Oasis in the Desert: Kindergarten Surrounded by Ruins

Have you ever seen a scene like this? Imagine what it must be like to go to school there.

An unlicensed kindergarten building in Xian, Shaanxi Province, stands all alone in a field of rubble left by a demolition project.

The school has had over 100 students since September without a proper license, CCTV News reported, and the principal claims they are in the process of acquiring one.

Principal Jiang Genghua told Sina News:

We didn’t know things would be like this. The construction started in August after we signed the 20-year lease in April 2013.

The area has since been surrounded by debris. Most locals affected have been relocated, and parents of the kids still going there are planning to pull them out due to the dangerous environment.
