Wow, Night Sky Looks Like Day as Asteroid Passes Over North China

A surveillance camera filmed this fireball zooming above Inner Mongolia on Nov. 5.

The footage was captured at the Xilinhot South expressway toll station at around 4 a.m. when a white flash lit up the night sky for about four seconds.

Wang Sichao, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Science, said the asteroid was around 12 feet in diameter, making it slightly larger than a car.
