So this is an exhibit that you walk into, which alters your sense of gravity. Without that safety net of how we are used to perceiving gravity, we get very very confused.
By just changing the position of a room and its center of gravity, artist Julian Hoeber is taking our perceptions for a ride. What’s weird is that you know you are entering a room which is tilted, but you’ll still be confused by what you experience there.
I imagine you’ll come out of there differently than you walk in. Once our fundamental perceptions and senses are challenged, it can have a lasting effect.
I’m not sure whether Julian is still exhibiting this work, but his art often deals with perceptual curiosities.
