Cheeky Student Asks for Discount When Fined for Running Red Light

A female college student drove her sports car through a red light, and told the policeman who stopped her that she should get a half-price fine for being a student.

She also said it was only a few seconds since the light went red, and it wasn’t a big deal, according to China News.

The policeman told her she can’t bargain with the law. Instead he fined her 200 yuan (about $32), and deducted six points from her license.

The student was later identified as a graduate from a university in Nanjing.
